“Meet Me In San Diego … ”
We’ll sit down and review your web-writing goals and income objectives, and make a plan for you going forward.
Then, between my web writer friends and me, we’ll give you a paying job … and arm you with the tools and knowledge you’ll need to launch your successful web-writing career instantly.
Plus, we’ll be here to help you when you’re back home … until you meet the writing goals we set together and your income objective has been achieved.
It’s a bold and definitive plan designed to launch your career quickly and succinctly.
But there is one catch …
Details below.
Dear Reader,
If your goal is to write for the web, I have an exciting proposition for you.
It’s a unique opportunity to learn everything you’ll need to launch a successful web-writing business – and be paid while you do it.
You’ll begin by coming to see me in beautiful, sunny San Diego – right on the beach.
If you’ve never been – you’re sure to love it there. San Diego has the best weather in the country. It’s busy and vibrant, so there is always something going on. And I promise you, if you come, we’ll be sure to get out on the town together.
But not before we take care of some business first.
Because quite frankly, what I have planned for you has the potential to be a life-changing experience – just like it’s been for others the other times we’ve gotten together.
Bob Edelstein, for instance …
After winning rave reviews (and a healthy-sized check) for copy he wrote at last year’s Web Copywriting Intensive – he gained the much-needed confidence to shift his freelance business into high gear. Within weeks, he had three more assignments from contacts he made there.
And Mindy Tyson McHorse – she’s amazed at how the direction of her life changed after she sat down with my friends and me in 2010. Before honing her skills at the Web Intensive, she was making a respectable $24K per year as a part-time writer. Yet on December 28th of that very same year, she finally hit her six-figure goal by making $100,598.
And this year, she’s on track to do it again … while only working 20 hours a week!
Henry Bingaman was a 23-year-old flight attendant when he came to our first Web Intensive back in 2009. He was so inspired by what he learned that he quit his flight attendant job when he returned home and started working as a web writer.
“It gave me enormous confidence,” he told us by email later. "I flew one more trip, they called me to fly to Munich and I realized I could make more money if I stayed home and wrote 2 emails... So I turned down the trip and quit."
Now he tells us he’s well on the path to becoming a seven-figure web expert by the time he’s 30!
Crazy thing is, before we all met up together, these people were just like you.
They wanted to be writers. They thought web writing was a good fit for them. They just weren’t sure what they needed to know … or how to proceed with launching their business and getting clients.
That’s exactly what we showed them.
And it’s what we’ll show you if you’re ready to take the same kind of life-changing, career-boosting step.
Don’t Expect This to Be
a “Day at the Beach”!
But here’s the thing you have to know before you even consider this … before I go into detail about what this event is all about.
You’ll be expected to “work your butt off”!
In other words, we’re not just getting together to talk about what a great life the life of a web writer is all about – and then send you home with a few “pointers.”
No …
This is an intense three-day event where at one moment we’ll be cramming your head full of all the web-writing and business-building strategies you’ll need to know in order to call yourself a web copy specialist …
The next, we’ll be having you write, write, and rewrite copy for real products and services – all under the guidance of a team of experts who have made millions writing the kind of stuff you’ll be writing here.
Some of the projects you’ll be tackling and mastering include:
- Web promotions
- Website copy
- Landing pages
- Autoresponders
- Search engine optimization
- Social media plans
- Online video scripts
- And more!
Along the way, our good friend Joshua Boswell will be showing you the “business” side of things … how to launch, market, and structure your freelance business so you have a never-ending line-up of clients begging you to help them transform their online marketing into a selling machine.
Then maybe – if we’re satisfied with the progress we’re making … and we’re sure you’re going to leave with the skills you need to be successful – we’ll take a night on the town (or two) to celebrate.
And I’ll be the first to buy you a drink to toast your newfound success!
As you can see, it will be quite a whirlwind of activity. But are you interested in taking this definitive step that will turn you into a professional, working web copywriter over the course of a week?
Then let me explain in some more detail what we’ll be doing during our three days together.
Here’s the ‘Catch’ I Talked About
But first, I mentioned a “catch” earlier.
And there is just one:
Attendance is strictly limited.
I’m sorry, but we have no choice in this matter … although I think you’ll quickly understand why.
After all, this is very much a ‘hands-on’ learning event. There will be a lot of one-on-one interaction – particularly during the writing phase of the event. And because we want you working on your projects directly with successful web professionals, only 50 can come.
But even that number is a little deceiving. Why?
Because as I write this letter, 13 of those 50 spots have already been filled by people who knew they wanted to come after missing out on last year’s event.
So in reality, there will be only 37 spots – at the most – by the time you receive this invitation.
That’s why I urge you … if you’re at all interested in being part of this very popular annual event, please get your name on the list immediately.
Okay, back to the mission.
First off, we’ll hold the event at the beautiful Catamaran Hotel & Resort on the beach in sunny San Diego, California. We held our last Web Copywriting Intensive here and we all just loved it. You won’t want to leave!
Second, it’ll happen in February – Sunday the 26th through Wednesday the 29th. (If you’re from the north, it’s a great time for a winter escape! San Diego averages about 65 degrees that time of year and it’s typically very dry!)
Third, a little history …
February’s event will mark our 5th “Web Copywriting Intensive” get-together.
Our first one happened back in 2008, and like every one since, was a huge SELL-OUT success. And no wonder – this is an event where everyone wins! Attendees win because they get the skills they need to launch a web-writing career in a matter of days … and my marketing friends get a ready and eager group of writers whom we can hire and pay to write for us!
In fact, the majority of the web writers I have working for me right now are past attendees of Web Copywriting Intensives just like this one!
I’m Like a Broken Record:
I Desperately Need Web Writers!
But as always … just one little problem:
I’m still in need of more writers – and probably always will be!
Which brings me to an important point … and why, if you want to become a write-from-home, freelance writer but haven’t yet decided on a niche, I recommend web writing so highly.
In a nutshell, the web is by far the biggest and fastest-growing opportunity for copywriters on the planet!
In fact, I’m willing to go out on a limb and say that web writing – the very kind of web writing we’ll be teaching you in San Diego – is the biggest money-making opportunity for writers in history!
When you think about the facts, it’s very hard to argue …
The Internet is still very much a “new frontier.” It’s only been a part of our lives, really, since the mid 1990s.
But Internet commerce is an even newer frontier. It’s only been around since the early 2000s – when people really started being comfortable making purchases and using their credit cards online.
I like to call it “The Amazon Effect.” Although the Internet retailer opened its virtual doors back in 1995 and attracted a lot of investors early on, it only started turning a profit in 2002 as consumers felt more and more comfortable giving their credit card information over the Internet.
That signaled the start of the Internet commerce era. More and more businesses began offering their products and services over the web.
These days, any business without an Internet presence is way behind the times. And I’m not just talking about having an easy way to buy their products …
You’ll Be Helping Businesses Build and Grow
Their Online Marketing Presence
I’m talking about an online “marketing presence” where you help businesses thrive by creating effective landing and website pages that sell … a strong SEO ranking number so people can find them on Google … aggressive list-building techniques and focused marketing efforts using email, video, autoresponders, follow-up campaigns, surveys, appreciation messages, and more.
It’s a rare chance to be a true “hero” to your clients – and make a very nice living at the same time.
But herein lies the immediate opportunity for you.
Only a very small number of businesses are fully exploiting the web’s marketing power by doing all these things.
A smaller number still are doing them well …
And here’s a very simple fact that could keep you in a six-figure income business for the rest of your life:
Hundreds of thousands of companies don’t have a decent web presence at all!
They’re waiting for someone like you to come along and help them do it – and do it well!
The Biggest Opportunity for Writers –
Maybe Ever … Don’t Miss Out On It!!
Now, I could show you all kinds of spending and viewing stats when it comes to all kinds of media. Like some eMarketer numbers, for instance, that say e-commerce will grow 13.7% this year alone. Or the 22 million websites Netcraft says were added in October (on top of the 525 million that already exist!).
But a recent comScore study seems to sum it up.
The study followed the consumer habits of 200,000 participants with exposure to only online ads versus those with only television ad exposure. The results showed that online advertising lifted sales at an average of 9%, while television campaigns fell behind with an 8% boost.
What does this mean?
It means businesses are finding they’re able to get a better “bang for their advertising buck” with online marketing since online marketing can be more targeted to their customers than traditional media, such as TV.
Studies also suggest that more and more people are turning to their computers, laptops, and mobile devices for everything – entertainment … news … information … and to buy and research products.
As this exodus from traditional media to the web continues to accelerate … the opportunity for web marketers and copywriters will only grow exponentially.
It’s a fast-changing world and it’s important you’re up to speed on the latest in “what works.”
One of the “new media” leaders (and hottest opportunities for copywriters), for example, are those quick little video messages that can be easily produced and sent directly to customers via email, through social media, and by posting them to YouTube.
These little videos aren’t just for big advertisers. Any business of any size can create them quickly and relatively cheaply. The most crucial element, of course, is the message … the script. That’s where you come in. And that’s why “video script writing” is one of the important new sessions we’ve added to this year’s Web Copywriting Intensive program.
So two things we know for certain:
Internet commerce continues to grow at a torrential pace – and that there are millions of companies out there who need your expertise. (And I bet at least a dozen or two in your own hometown!)
In fact, I’m one of those “businesses” that need your expertise!
I know the more marketing I do online and the more I’m in touch with AWAI members – the more response we get back, both in terms of interest and sales.
Bottom line, I KNOW how valuable web copy is. I know it’ll make me money.
The only problem is, I can’t seem to find enough copywriters who know how to write for the web.
That’s why I’m determined to prove to you how easy it is to succeed as a web copywriter …
There’s a Check in Your Name Waiting for You …
Will You Pick It Up?
I’ve got so much web writing work to assign that – just like I did at the 2011 AWAI Web Copywriting Intensive – I’m going to guarantee that you and everyone else there will get a paid assignment from me.
The pay for these assignments isn’t chump change either.
Anywhere from $300 – $1,000 for a project.
Just to write something which potentially may only take you an hour or two. (It really just depends on how much you apply yourself while at the Intensive. But don’t worry; there’ll be PLENTY of hands-on training going on to help you through it.)
Your First Check:

Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not giving away “pity” assignments here. This isn’t a gimmick to get you to come.
These are REAL assignments I need completed and would assign to any competent web copywriter.
For example, at last year’s Intensive, I wrote checks anywhere from $150 – $300 on the spot for assignments that were completed in about 30 minutes flat! (Not to mention the dozens of other checks I wrote for work that was completed shortly after the event.)
That’s the nice thing about being a web copywriter.
There’s a quick turnaround. Many of these assignments can be done in a day or two – max. It just depends on the scope of the project. And, of course, the better you get, the less time you’ll spend on each assignment.
And there’s no question – if I like the work you do for me in San Diego, it could be the beginning of a long (and mutually lucrative!) working relationship between the two of us!
By now, you might be wondering, “How can you be so sure I’ll get the necessary skills in just three days?”
I know it’s a pretty bold claim. But I’ve got four years’ worth of success stories that prove it’s more than possible.
I mentioned Bob, Mindy, and Henry earlier …
Each of them has received numerous web copy projects from me after attending.
Crystle Pishon, who attended her first Web Intensive just last year, turned her spec assignment into an ongoing gig, writing articles and video scripts for Wealthy Web Writer.
When I needed a landing page last year for AWAI’s Professional Writers’ Alliance, I rang up Andrea Williams and asked her if she could tackle the project for me.
And then there’s Pam Foster …
Pam attended the very first Web Intensive in Tampa, Florida. During the event, she was awarded a home page spec, and went on to write numerous web copy projects for AWAI before finally turning all of the knowledge and experience she had gained into three different programs for AWAI!
And this year, it’s going to be bigger, better, and easier to succeed than ever before. We’ll be incorporating some of the hottest areas of web writing, including autoresponders (how does $500 for an hour’s work sound?) and video scripts (the demand for this skill is HUGE!) and social media campaigns (there are lots of potential clients right near your home!).
Make no mistake about it …
The Quickest Way to Get the Skills
and Succeed as a Web Copywriter
The fastest way to get up to speed when it comes to web copywriting is at AWAI’s Web Copywriting Intensive.
And for three days in San Diego, you’re going to literally have a career-transforming experience.
Because this year, FOUR of the most knowledgeable … most respected … and most accomplished web experts in the industry are going to be under one roof.
And all of them have only one goal in mind:
Turn YOU into a top-notch web copywriter
in just three days.
That’s why I warned you earlier, this won’t be a “relaxing” three days. We call this a Web Copywriting “Intensive” for a reason.
That’s because you’re going to be put to work.
In addition to the sessions with the experts, you’re going to get guided, hands-on “labs” where you’re going to write web copy – whether you like it or not. (Hey, I AM guaranteeing a paid assignment here … so I’m doing everything on my end to get your skills up in the fastest time possible.)
And don’t worry if you’re a newbie or a grizzled web-writing veteran. There’ll be two tracks to choose from – Basic and Advanced.
Regardless of the track you choose, you’ll be challenged and practically forced to become an awesome web copywriter.
You’ll Master the 5 Hottest Areas of Web Writing
So here’s how it works.
Our experts will help you to become a bona fide web copywriting specialist …
Using proven shortcuts, they’ll help you sharpen your skills in the five major areas of web copywriting and show you how to get a steady stream of clients.
PLUS, you’ll have access to the HUGE list of web projects that AWAI needs copy for – and some bonus client specs from other marketing companies. We’re lining up those bonus assignments now – more to come ...
But safe to say, I need help in virtually every area of my web marketing strategy – landing page copy, SEO work, scripts for videos we’re planning, autoresponder work for a variety of projects … and more.
One of the first things you’ll learn at this year’s Web Copywriting Intensive is what I consider the “bread and butter” of web writing – stuff that all companies need. I’m talking about writing home pages, landing pages, sales pages, and every other kind of web page under the sun.
And you’ll be getting these skills from the best in the biz at it. Meet Nick Usborne.
He’s been a copywriter for 30 years now, 15 of which he’s dedicated solely to online copywriting. He’s worked with, and is a web-copy consultant to, companies like Microsoft, Yahoo!, Disney, America Online, and The New York Times.
“Wow! What’s greater than a teacher with a great sense of humor and words that have incredible substance? The answer: Nick Usborne, a totally inspirational, educational experience. Thanks a million, Nick!”
– Margot Teleki
“I left Nick’s seminar and emailed one of my clients with some ‘think about this’ insights into eye-tracking and the golden triangle of website scanning. We’ll be working on their site next month. Total elapsed time from seminar’s end to new project: 20 minutes.”
– Jay van Wagenen
“We have a serious need for ongoing education and AWAI fills the bill brilliantly as Nick explained in his 3 pillars … ”
– Paula Williams
With his direction, you’re going to get your hands dirty and discover how to:
- Dramatically improve almost any web page, email, or newsletter.
- Present yourself to any company, large or small, as an expert who can transform their online presence.
- Know what actionable steps you can take immediately to optimize and improve any important business web page, including sales pages, landing pages, and home pages.
Just armed with this info alone, you could easily earn a six-figure income. This is what Nick focuses on exclusively, after all. And consistently, he earns a healthy six-figure income doing it.
How’s it possible?
Remember how I told you most web assignments have a quick turnaround?
Well, let’s do some easy, quick “math.”
Let’s say you're writing a landing page. The average pay is $1,500. And truth be told, you’ll probably end up writing no more than 1,000 words, which is about average for a standard landing page.
Tell me this. How fast could you write 1,000 words and earn a cool $1,500?
Just two or three of these projects a month can easily give you a full-time income, while barely “working.”
But we’re just getting warmed up.
See, I’ve always told people … whenever I’m asked what is the fastest, easiest way to get going as a copywriter ... “Write for the web!” It’s because the opportunities to write quick, short assignments while earning a healthy income are so abundant.
Just ask Jay White.
Jay makes a very nice six-figure income from his home, writing barely any copy at all! How does he do it?
Jay is a master of “autoresponders.” Do you know what those are? They’re ways companies invite you onto their email mailing list and start building a relationship with you by giving you useful information – so you’re more likely to buy in the future.
The relationship begins with those boxes that pop up when you’re on a website offering you a free gift, report, or something else in exchange for your email.
They look something like this:

It’s a powerful marketing tool for any business because they’re able to gather a list of potential customers they know are interested in their products. (They know because you were on a web page related to a product they were offering!)
So, you submit your email address. And once you do, you start receiving brief emails from someone associated with the site … all aimed at establishing a relationship with you and getting you to visit the site’s offer page.
“Copy that blows their minds!”
“Talk about excited! Thanks to Jay, I've already produced autoresponder copy for clients that blows their minds!”
– Dot Pecson
“Jay can walk the walk.”
“Not all hot-hand writers can teach, but Jay can walk the walk and talk/teach, too … with enthusiasm, clarity, and grace.”
– Curtis Tuck
Piece of cake, right?
Yes it is … so long as you know the tips and strategies for getting people to give you their emails, and then delivering good and persuasive content in that series of brief little emails … content that makes your prospect eager to do business with your client.
Luckily, you have an opportunity to learn from the best.
Self-made millionaire and top Internet marketer Alex Mandossian calls Jay, “The world’s best autoresponder copywriter.”
And he’s going to share with you his personal “paint-by-numbers” system to write top-notch autoresponder “capture” pages and emails. This is the same approach he uses to write for high-profile Internet marketing clients like Rich Schefren, Alex Mandossian, Jeff Walker, and Tellman Knudson.
$3,500 for Writing Seven Short Emails
By the time you’re done with Jay, you’ll know how to write effective, professional autoresponder email campaigns you’ll be able to charge $250 – $500 per email for. And since each autoresponder series is typically made up of about seven emails – that’s up to $3,500 per project!
And here’s a little secret Jay told us about his business. Because there’s a basic formula to all of these emails, you don’t have to “reinvent the wheel” each time you get a new client. Just take the basic “template” that’s worked in the past for other clients … and apply it to you new client. You’re not only virtually assured of a successful campaign … you can also finish an entire autoresponder campaign in as little as two mornings of “work”!
What’s more, Jay is going to make sure you leave the Web Copywriting Intensive with actual working samples for your portfolio. He’ll even go over your autoresponder campaign while you’re there – so you know you got it right! And he’ll show you how to know which clients need autoresponders and how to approach them.
Armed with this powerful information from Jay and Nick alone, you could easily meet your copywriting income goals in the next 12 months …
But that’s not all we’ll be teaching you during this information-crammed, three-day intensive event.
A day in the life of a web writer …
On Monday, you start writing a small website. Five to six pages tops, and it’s nothing fancy. It may take you a couple of days, and your client has happily agreed to pay you $2,000 to do it.
Then mid week you begin writing a single landing page project, which you normally charge $1,000 to write. But then you suggest to your client that she also let you write some online ads to drive people to that page, as well as the follow up emails that will be sent to the people who respond to your ads.
What was originally a $1,000 project has turned into $3,000 … just for spending a couple more days writing a few ads and emails.
It’s only been a week, and you’ve already made $5,000!
Take Friday off!
The Hottest Internet Marketing Tool Right Now
Next up, you’ll learn everything you need to know about video script writing.
You know, when these “mini infomercials” burst on the scene a few years ago, they made a huge impact in the video advertising world.
In fact, research firm eMarketer estimates that this year, advertisers will spend $2.3 BILLION on online video marketing efforts.
Yet successful online video isn’t much different from traditional direct-response web copy. Its purpose is to get the viewer to take a specific action.
Which is why the video script is so important. It’s the linchpin that determines whether or not the video will convert viewers to sales. And for web copy specialists, it’s a fun and easy way to earn a pretty nice paycheck …
You see, most online videos are around 30 seconds to 5 minutes in length.
That translates to about 150 words (sometimes less) per scripted minute of video.
So, in essence, the most you’ll be writing much of the time is around 750 words max; this is due to the fact that there is a limit on how fast a narrator or actor can speak … you want to say what you need to say without sounding rushed.
In exchange for writing 750 words, you could get paid up to $1,500.
That’s because the typical fee for an online video script can range from $100 – $500 per scripted minute of video, with a $500 minimum (in case the video is only 30 seconds to 1 minute long, for example).
So ultimately, you could get paid up to $1,500 for a 5-minute video script!
The best part is that once you get the hang of it … it’s not unrealistic to say that you could hammer out an entire script in a day. No problem.
Why are companies willing to pay so much?
Because online video works like gangbusters!
One study published in the online journal MarketingExperiments found that video marketing increases click-through rates by 750% over traditional banner ads.
That means online video is more than seven times more effective at getting your online prospect to take action.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The Online Publishers Association did a study to find out how good online video is at converting to sales. They followed 1,241 Internet users.
The result?
40% clicked a link or visited a website mentioned in the video ad. And 8% of the 1,241 web surfers made a purchase.
That translates into an 8% response rate! And as you probably already know, that’s phenomenal in an industry where 1% – 2% is considered a “home run.”
Without question, the potential of online video is HUGE.
And to make sure you feel confident writing video scripts for your clients, we’ve invited someone new this year to help you not only learn how to write effective video scripts, but to also help you put together a sample script you can use to land potential clients the minute you get home.
His name is Steve Slaunwhite, an expert copywriter and one of the most popular speakers and instructors at AWAI events.
Over the past 15 years, Steve has helped thousands of businesses get more leads, clients, and profits with their marketing.
He’s written and consulted for some big companies over the years, including UPS, Hewlett-Packard, Sprint, Forbes, and others, though these days he prefers working with smaller clients that have a personal stake in their businesses.
One of Steve’s favorite online marketing projects these days is writing online video scripts because they’re fun, easy projects that can be written rather quickly. And after spending the afternoon with him, I have a strong feeling they’ll be one of your favorite projects too.
Next up, you’ll learn the crucial element of any successful web campaign – Search Engine Optimization.
Get Paid Up to $1,500 to “Tweak” Copy
That’s Already Been Written for YOU!
If you’ve used the web, then chances are VERY likely you’ve used Google to search for information.
And if you’re like most people, you only looked at the first page of results to find the particular piece of information you were looking for. (In fact, according to some studies I’ve seen, only about 12% of Google users actually click to the second page … which means 88% of the time, they find what they’re looking for on “Page One”!)
That means any websites which manage to get onto that ever-coveted page one of Google results are going to get a flood of visitors. Ultimately, that means more income. More profits.
“Before this workshop, I knew very little about testing – SEO and writing for the Web. My insecurity in that area was keeping me from moving forward. Now, however, I’m educated in all the terms, I feel much more confident to tackle web projects, and in fact am working on a web project right now. Even Heather Lloyd-Martin gave me personal advice on my project, and now I feel confident to move forward and do a wonderful job for my client. Yes – this workshop elevated my skills and my ambitions to the moon! Thank you!”
– Laurie Cauthen
That’s why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is so crucial to any business’s online presence these days.
And the key to succeeding at it is knowing how to write web copy for both the search engines AND the web visitors – which is an art and science unto itself.
Bottom line: it’s a skill companies large and small will pay big money for. Because after all, the Internet levels the playing field. The company that shines is the one with superior web copy … and the premium spot on that much coveted “Page One” of Google.
Period.
The beauty of writing SEO copy is that you don’t have to spend hours thinking of a “big idea” or features and benefits, or the “core complex” like you do in traditional direct mail.
Yes, you have to keep your prospects in mind. But it’s much easier. The copy is usually already written for you. You just have to go into a company’s website and add or juggle a few key words around.
Simple stuff – when you know the secrets. And get this … companies will pay up to $1,500 to do this on a single web page!
To teach you this art, Heather Lloyd-Martin has agreed to join us once again.
Heather is THE pioneer of SEO copywriting and the Chair of the DMA’s Search Engine Marketing Council. She is also the author of Successful Search Engine Copywriting, widely considered the benchmark work on the subject.
She will give you the skill set and confidence to talk about SEO copywriting like an expert and easily “sell” your services.
By the time you’re done, you’ll have what it takes to build yet another brand-new profit center – one that could generate thousands of dollars every single month.
Consider it yet another weapon in your arsenal of lucrative web copywriting skills …
But there’s one more thing we want to cover for you:
It concerns an online marketing strategy that’s turning the business world on its head and forcing companies to change the way they sell and share information on the Internet.
The Real Facebook Effect!
In fact, according to dozens of online tracking studies I’ve read, thousand of companies are allocating their biggest budget increases to this single category of web marketing than any other.
I’m talking, of course, about Social Media.
Media firm BIA/Kelsey recently forecasted that between 2010 and 2015, social media advertising spending would multiply nearly 4 times.
That means the $2.1 billion spent on social media in 2010 will grow to $8.4 billion by 2015!
And in this new addition to the 2012 Web Copywriting Intensive, Nick Usborne is going to come back on day two to give you the skills you need to create a social media plan for your clients.
After this session, you’ll be able to do anything from just consulting with your clients about their social media strategy to actually running their entire social media campaign.
Take a look at some of the money you’ll be able to make by adding this to your list of services …
- Just getting on the phone with a client and talking to them about their social media strategy is worth at least $300 per hour to many clients. There are even consultants charging more than $10,000 per day just to teach social media to corporate executives.
- You could position yourself to do any one of many social media services for clients. For instance, clients often pay $2,500 – $5,000 per month for launching and managing a Facebook fan page.
- You can manage their entire social media presence. Clients expect to pay a lot more for this level of service. And, of course, you can make a lot more than this by managing multiple clients at once.
But, we’re not done yet. There’s still MORE …
The Motivation and Confidence
You Need to Land Clients Who Need Your
Newly Acquired Web-Writing Skills
Joshua Boswell is quite an inspiration for a lot of AWAI members.
Maybe you know his story. With his wife and eight (now 10!) kids in tow, he went from being over $100,000 in debt to earning six figures and debt free in his first year as a copywriter.
Today, his income is well into the $300,000+ range …
What helped him achieve such amazing success so fast?
You guessed it: writing for the web!
Yes, he mastered the secrets you’re about to learn …
But better than anyone else, Joshua learned how to land clients. According to Joshua, there’s no big secret to it. It’s just a matter of positioning yourself as a professional who can help a business grow, and clients want to work with you!
Best of all, he’s going to share with you the secrets he’s discovered for getting out there and landing high-paying web clients – time and time again. He’ll show you how to get past your fears and insecurities and finally start living the life you deserve.
By the time you’re done, there won’t be anything you can’t do. Just follow Joshua’s simple instructions and you can’t help but succeed.
Plus, I’m Going to Give You
a Paid Assignment – Guaranteed.
I’ve told you that you’ll be given a paid assignment.
I’m dead serious.
Because by the time you’ve gone through the presentations with these gurus … by the time you’ve finished with the “hands-on” labs we have planned for you … and by the time you’ve had all your questions answered by these top web writers …
There is no question in my mind that you’ll be MORE than ready to tackle any one of the dozens of web assignments I need completed.
And if by any chance it takes you more than one pass to complete it and get it to where we need it to be, don’t worry. AWAI’s marketing team will personally work with you until it’s great.
That’s my promise to you.
What’s more, do an exceptional job and you may get a call from me once you’re back home. If that’s the case, you can be sure I’ve got more web assignments I want you to complete.
AWAI has tons of web writing that needs to be done. Somebody is going to write it. And who better to go to than an expert we’ve helped train … who knows our business best?
That person is YOU!
As I said, I’m adding to the list every day. But here’s just a partial list of some of the projects I’ll happily pay you to work on while you’re with us in San Diego:
- Creating and managing a Facebook presence for DirectResponseJobs.com.
- Writing autoresponders for one of our 5 current lead-generation efforts.
- Optimizing copy on our websites to target new prospects. (With the thousands of pages of copy on the AWAI site, this project alone could easily take 10 web writers!)
- Writing an online script for the 2012 Bootcamp video.
- Preparing a new social media strategy for the company.
- Writing landing pages for a new PPC campaign we’re working on.
- Contributing articles to Wealthy Web Writer and The Writer’s Life.
I could literally put together at least 50 projects. And as you can see, each project could be done by multiple web writers …
I NEED YOUR HELP!
The Time Is Now
“I learned something valuable in every category”
– Victor Leppky
“Terrific, well-balanced collection of focused training in all the important aspects of web copywriting. Love the contrast between presenters’ personas – up-tempo contributions from Joshua, Jay, and Heather … Veteran guidance by Nick and Andrew.”
– Rick Robinette
If you’re truly serious and committed to furthering your copywriting career in the most lucrative and “writer hungry” sector, then writing for the web isn’t an option.
It’s a MUST.
You need to build your skills now. You need to get ahead of the crowd.
Billions of dollars are moving online every month. And the window of opportunity is wide open for you to claim your stake. This is even bigger than any gold rush of the last 500 years. I can tell you with every degree of certainty – as writers, we will never see another opportunity as lucrative as the one before us now.
Remember, this year alone companies are spending close to $66 billion to market their websites. That’s just as much as the total spent on television and cable advertising.
That number will only continue to grow.
There’s a reason for it. As more people go online, traditional media, like direct mail, for example, doesn’t have the same impact it used to.
According to a recent survey conducted by Borrell Associates, small businesses (like the ones in your local area) plan to increase their online advertising by 29 percent this year, compared to only a 4.5 percent increase on their offline ad budgets.
And Forrester Research says that:
“Newspaper advertising is another likely loser; this should not be surprising with news that many papers are cutting off print circulation, merging with their biggest competitors, or are going with an online-only format."
The writing is on the wall. Every day, the web plays a bigger and bigger role in how businesses get new customers, build relationships, and sell their projects and services. And you now have the chance to capitalize on it while it’s still in its infancy.
I know many people tend to be put off by the “technology” aspect of it or the fact that it sounds complicated.
The truth is, it’s not hard at all. You’ll be using the basic copywriting skills you know. It’s just a matter of adapting the skills you have to the web. During the first day of the Web Intensive, you’ll see it’s really very simple.
No struggling over big, long, complicated projects that take hours of research and writing.
…For the email/autoresponder writing expert – 250 words per email at the most.
…For the SEO expert – it’s just a matter of juggling around copy that’s already there.
…For the landing page and web page expert – it can be one to two thousand well-chosen words.
…For the video script pro – three pages of script copy delivers a solid three-minute video, the optimum length for most products.
And best of all, once you know the simple concepts behind each specialty, you can very easily become a specialist in all of the fun and lucrative areas of writing for the web.
Each one of these areas can become a mini profit center for you, too. Each one adding a few thousand dollars to your bottom line each and every single month.
Whether you want to focus on traditional direct-mail copywriting AND web copywriting, or simply focus only on being a web copywriter, AWAI’s 2012 Web Copywriting Intensive will give you the tools you need.
The Only Time You’ll Find These
Top Web-Writing Gurus Under One Roof
I can’t tell you what a blessing it’s been to get all of these web-writing masters together under one roof at the same time – and what a great opportunity it is for you.
Just think …
- In-demand web copy consultant Nick Usborne doesn’t offer many seminars because he’s always so busy with his clients and money-making websites. But he’s told me that if he were to put together an event of his own, he would charge at least $9,500 per person to attend.
- On the rare occasions that top autoresponder copywriter Jay White coaches other copywriters, he charges upwards of $10,000. If he did his own seminar, you can be certain it would be far more than that.
- SEO copywriting pioneer Heather Lloyd-Martin is always in demand as a speaker. Her speaking fee starts at $7,500 per day and she is usually booked months in advance. Bottom line is, getting a hold of her isn’t easy. Aside from hearing her speak or getting her SEO Copywriting Program, there’s no way to discover her insider SEO copywriting secrets.
- Steve Slaunwhite is a respected master in the business-to-business world and charges thousands of dollars a day to come out and teach you what you’ll learn about writing successful video scripts in San Diego.
- Wildly successful web writer Joshua Boswell has spent well over $20,000 to learn the skills he now enjoys. Not to mention the trial and error he had to go through in refining his client-getting process. And during the Web Copywriting Intensive, he’s going to give it all to you and hold nothing back.
- And then to have Nick come to you and show you how to put together a successful social media campaign – an actual template you can use over and over again for any number of clients … and charge thousands of dollars? Well, that’s just priceless information you’re getting there.
Yet all of it will be handed to you on a proverbial silver platter over three action-packed days in beautiful San Diego.
The Web Copy Intensive is the only place where all of these experts are available to you all at once. Even after the workshops and panels are over, you can go out to dinner with the experts or catch them over breakfast. Plus, you’ll be able to connect with your fellow attendees and set up “mastermind groups” that will last long after the Intensive is over.
If you tried upgrading your web writing skills in all these areas – with these top masters – it would cost you well over $20,000.
Especially when you consider the hands-on training you’ll get during labs and peer reviews, in addition to the free access to any of these experts during the Intensive itself. Feel free to walk up to them and ask questions about anything.
They are there to help you succeed. And quite honestly, you can’t put a price on that level of attention and concern for your success.
So please, if you’re serious (you’ve read this far … so I have a feeling you are), I urge you not to waste another moment and register today.
The demand to attend the Web Copywriting Intensive is always substantial. In fact, the past four years that we’ve held it, the Intensive sold out in a matter of weeks.
So here’s a summary of what you need to know:

The event is going to be held at the Catamaran Resort Hotel in San Diego, CA, February 26 – 29, 2012. (This is a beautiful five-star beachfront resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We were even able to secure a low group discount room rate of $140 a night!)
The price to attend the 2012 Web Copywriting Intensive is an investment of $4,995. I call it an “investment” because that’s precisely what it is – an investment in your business and in your future.
Let’s face it. As a copywriter, you’re a professional. And as a professional, you have an obligation to your clients and your own success to be constantly upgrading your skills and learning the latest “trade secrets.”
Our 2012 Web Copywriting Intensive takes that idea to the max. Not only will you be learning the latest success secrets of the fastest-growing sector for copywriters – you’ll also be gaining the skills you’ll need to jump-start and grow your entire freelance writing business – all for a price you can make back in just a few assignments!
Still, I know this kind of money can be a stretch, so I’ve arranged a payment plan option if you need it. (Contact Member Services at 1-866-879-2924 for more details.)
And remember …
You don’t have to pay that full amount today. And you still have time to cancel and get every penny back if you discover over the coming weeks that you can’t make it. (You’ll find all the key dates and refund information on the reservation form here.)
The important thing is that we hear from you today – so we can secure your spot.
This is a very good deal … and a very good opportunity for you.
Remember, after learning the ins and outs of web copywriting with Nick Usborne, you can charge up to $1,500 per page of web copy.
With Jay, you’ll learn everything about autoresponders where clients will happily pay upwards of $3,500 for a single campaign (and you can use the same basic formula for client after client!).
Heather Lloyd-Martin will show you how to re-write a business’s web page to be search engine friendly. It’s a quick job where you can earn $250 – $1,500 (all you have to do is change a few words and phrases on something that’s already written for you!).
Joshua Boswell is going to show you how to gain the motivation and confidence you need to start landing clients as soon as you leave. He’ll reveal the same secrets he uses to earn a $300,000+ income writing mainly for the web.
Clients will be happy to pay you several thousands to put together the kind of social media campaign Nick will show you …
And just wait when you tell your clients you’ll be able to help them generate an online video that sends customers scrambling to their doors, thanks to the help you’ll get from Steve Slaunwhite.
And don’t forget the biggie –
I’m going to give you a guaranteed paid assignment ranging from $200 – $1,000 to work on while you’re here.
There’s no “trick” to this.
I’ll have a full list of assignments for you to choose from. Some pay more than others. It’s all up to you.
Considering you could finish any one of these assignments before you leave – and that the assignment you do at the event could lead to a lot more projects from me and my friends – this paid project in and of itself is a tremendous opportunity for you.
You can register for the 2012 AWAI Web Copywriting Intensive – and secure your spot at this limited space event – simply by clicking the link below.
Or you can call Barb, Debbie, Cameron, or Pat directly at 1-866-879-2924 if you have any questions or you’d like to arrange a payment plan.
I’m sorry if I’m repeating myself here, but please do it now if you’re at all considering this. Remember, in order to maintain the intimacy, only 50 spots are available for this event. And as I write this letter, 13 are already spoken for from folks who missed out on past events and want to make sure they don’t miss out again.
That means there will be a lot of your fellow AWAIers and you vying for very few spots. The key is to get your name in now. You can always pull out later if something were to come up and you can’t attend. I think you know us by now. We’re not interested in “holding” you to anything or keeping your money if you have a change of heart. That’s not how we operate here at AWAI.
And speaking of promises …
My Promise to You
In addition to guaranteeing you a paid web writing assignment, I promise you this:
If, for any reason, you don’t feel that you’re learning secrets that can put you on the fast track to earning big money for writing short bits of copy, let me know by the end of the first day of the Web Copywriting Intensive.
I’ll arrange for you to receive a prompt and courteous refund, less a small processing fee to cover some hard costs, no questions asked.
You’ve got nothing to lose by attending this event. And everything – and I really mean EVERYTHING – to gain.
“All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy”
Just because this is going to be an intense, hands-on three days doesn’t mean it won’t be fun.
In fact, we’ve got other exciting things planned, too. (Denise, our Conference Director, is always brimming with fun ideas for us to do.)
At last year’s Intensive, we enjoyed the local seafood at “World Famous” one night, enjoyed a barbeque on the beach another day, and took a dip in Mission Bay AND the Pacific Ocean.
The year before in Las Vegas, we celebrated at a local restaurant … then some folks went casino hopping …
But you know what they say about “what happens in Vegas,” so I’ll have to leave it at that ...
At our Web Copywriting Intensive in Austin, we had a web writers’ “dance off” (there’s nothing else quite like seeing Pam Foster do a cartwheel across the ballroom floor!).
Who knows what Denise and I will come up with this year in San Diego?
We’ll include some down time for R&R and getting to know your fellow web copy writers … but we are determined to help you succeed as quickly and efficiently as possible … to help you sharpen your skills in the four major areas of web copywriting. So be prepared to work!
This Truly Is a Life-Changing Opportunity
Writing for the web is where the future is headed. There’s no escaping it.
Eventually, copywriters who don’t know how to write for the web will be at a severe disadvantage.
My hope for you is that you’re serious about being able to make a commitment to your success … and that you’ll attend this once-in-a-lifetime event.
For those who will be there, I know it will be a career-transforming experience.
Look forward to seeing you in San Diego!
Sincerely,

Rebecca Matter

P.S. I almost forgot to mention one more thing we’re going to do BEFORE you even get to San Diego!!
When you arrive on February 26th, I want to be sure you’re ready so that you can hit the ground running when you return home on February 29th. So I’m going to put together a special training series that will take place in January and February.
Along with helping you set your goals for the year and get some advanced training, we’ll go over more details about the event – what you can expect … how you can prepare … what you should bring, and so on.
Also, we can answer any questions you have about the event itself or making your travel arrangements. Our goal is to make this as easy and “seamless” as possible for you and do everything we can to ensure your success.
Just sign up for the event … book your room and flight (we can even help you there) – and we’ll take care of everything else. But again, time is of the essence. You want to be on board before the “Sold Out” sign goes up! Secure your spot here now.
