Hello fellow writer.

There is one core strategy you must use if you want to become a good writer. Nothing else you can do is as important as this.

It’s really quite simple. If you want to become a good writer and progress to becoming a great writer, you must write.

And you must write every day.

It’d be great if you could put aside half an hour, an hour, or even more every day to write.

But a lot of times when you’re studying to become a professional writer, you can’t put aside that amount of time in one chunk. In this case, put aside ten, fifteen, maybe even only five minutes to write.

What you do write?

Your life presents numerous possibilities.

Is there a restaurant you really enjoy going to on a regular basis?

Write a review for that restaurant.

Did you just finish a book you really enjoyed? Or one that you thought was an absolute waste of time? Or a movie you truly loved … or passionately hated.

Write reviews.

Or write articles for your church bulletin or service club newsletter.

But it’s not enough just to write those reviews or newsletter items.

Once you’ve finished, let your writing sit for a day. Make sure you said exactly what you wanted to say. Make sure you aced that conversational tone. And make sure you eliminated all typos.

But that’s still not enough.

You’re a professional writer. As a pro, you write for others.

So once you’ve cleaned and polished your writing, send it to someone.

Whatever you do, don’t shortchange your career. Write every day.
