Help with Downloads
If you are having trouble downloading or opening any of our downloadable products, you've come to the right place. Here you'll find MP3 players, Adobe Reader for PDFs, and utilities to open ZIP files, all free to download.
General Downloading Tips
There are two main ways to use the links to downloadable files on our website:
- Click on the link to open the file in the browser. This is especially useful for audio files that you want to listen to without having to wait for the entire file to download to your computer.
Right-click (PC) or CTRL-click (Mac) the link to launch a small menu of options, one of which should be similar to "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." and choose that option. This will open a download window to allow you to choose where on your computer you'd like to save the file. Once you choose a location (and you can even choose the name of the saved file) the file will begin downloading.
In some cases the file may download to a default location without asking you to choose where to save it. If you can't find the downloaded file on your computer you should consult your browser settings or help menu for more assistance in locating the file. Some browsers may automatically prompt you to open the file when it has finished downloading, so you don't have to look for it at all.
For more information about downloading files with your particular browser, please check the documentation or tutorials available for your browser.
Audio Files (.mp3 file extension)
Our standard format for downloadable audio files is MP3. MP3 files are very common for music and audio of any kind. There are many free programs available for download, capable of playing MP3 files on your computer. Here are some of the most popular choices:
ZIP Files (.zip file extension)
When one of our downloads includes more than one file, we create a single ZIP file to hold all of the individual pieces. This makes it easy for you to download several files that belong together at once, but your computer must be able to unpack the ZIP file to access all the files inside. If your computer does not have the built-in ability to do this, you can use a free archive utility program. Here are some popular free ones:
PDF Files (.pdf file extension)
PDF files are perfect for documents, as they can easily be opened on most operating systems, and are ready-made for printing. Adobe Reader is free, and is all you need to view PDF files. You can download it here:
