If You Picked “B” – You, Too, Can Be on Your Way to Living the “Retired Lifestyle” Complete With the Financial Freedom You’ve Dreamed of… Starting Today.

Lori Haller

Dear Reader,

If you answered “B,” you’ve just proven to yourself you have what it takes to live the “retired lifestyle.” One where you can average $75 an hour or more “working” only part time …

… leaving you plenty of time and financial freedom to do what you want, when you want.

Let me explain …

The simple test above is a big part of what I do on a daily basis as a freelance graphic designer.

Now, I know the words “graphic design” may make you think you need superior artistic talent or ability. Let me assure you that you don’t have to be a Picasso to do what I do.

In fact …

You Don’t Even Have to Be Able to Draw a Straight Line

You just have to be able to point and click with a mouse.

And that’s a good thing.

Because the little-known segment of the graphic arts market I’m talking about also happens to be the easiest and most lucrative. So lucrative that it’s allowed me to live the “retired lifestyle” I’ve always dreamed of. A lifestyle with …

  • No bosses …
  • A fine home …
  • Time for family and friends …
  • A substantial “retirement” fund …
  • First-class travel …

And plenty of money left over for treating myself and my loved ones to the “good life.”

I know this might seem a little over-the-top. I’d think so, too, if I weren’t living this lifestyle day-in and day-out.

In fact, countless others are also living the “retired lifestyle.” They were able to say “adios” to their jobs and former lives. Now they’re living the lives of their dreams, as you’ll soon see.

But before I share their stories with you, I should ask you …

Isn’t It Time You Fired Your Boss … and Started Living Your Dream Life?

I did and I haven’t looked back since.

My name is Lori Haller and I’ve been a successful freelance graphic designer for over 20 years. I’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including National Geographic, Boardroom, Hyatt and Forbes.

My latest project involves designing the direct-marketing campaign of Oprah’s third (and latest) book … scheduled to hit bookstores later this year.

But I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t made the decision to become a freelance graphic designer.

See, I’m a bit of a free spirit and I just love the freedom that comes with my career.

That’s why I’m so excited to share with you how you, too, can join me and countless others in working from home and averaging $75 an hour or more as a freelance graphic designer … even if you don’t have an ounce of artistic ability in you.

In fact …

You Can Live the “Retired Lifestyle” With No Financial Worries

And it’s never been easier, thanks to computers. All you need now is the magic of point and click. Here’s what I mean:

I learned graphic design the old “fashioned” way.

Back when everything was done with a rapidograph – one of those pens you have to fill with ink. And paint brushes. And you ordered type (words and letters printed on paper), and then you cut them out and pasted them on to “a board” or you would stick everything down with hot wax.

But computers have changed all that. If I need a new kind of type, I just point and click on it from the font menu in my word processor. If I want to change the text to a different color – again, just a few clicks and I’m done.

Plus, the pay is great. An average of $75 an hour … usually more. And the freedom you gain is even better …

Live and Work From Anywhere in the World

What I love most about my job is not that I can earn $100,000 - $150,000 in any given year. I just love the freedom!

For example, I could earn even more if I wanted to … maybe $200,000 or more. But that would mean I would have to give up more of my time and work harder. Right now, that’s not what I want to do. I’d rather spend time with my husband and three boys.

I work only with the clients I want to work with. And I’m in control of my schedule. I wake up when I’m ready to … I come and go as I please … and I take vacations when the mood strikes.

Complete freedom.

Which also means I can live anywhere in the world I want.

Maybe you want to live in a small picturesque town and watch the seasons change. Or perhaps the bustling city life in New York or Chicago is more your speed. Whatever the case may be, freelance graphic design gives you the freedom to live anywhere … because you don’t have to meet with your clients face to face. All you need is a computer, a phone, and email.

And maybe you’re an early bird like I am. You can get your work done in the morning, and the rest of the day is yours. Play a round of golf perhaps. Or take a walk. Maybe even take a mini-vacation for a day or two.

It’s completely up to you.

And best of all there’s no shortage of work, because as a freelance graphic designer …

You’ll Be in High Demand

Here’s why:

The kind of graphic design you’ll be doing is for the direct-marketing industry.

If you’ve ever received a fundraising letter in the mail, a letter selling a product or service, or even a letter from a political campaign asking for your support, then you’ve been exposed to direct marketing.

But it’s not just limited to what you get in the mail. Magazines, newspapers, and even the internet are full of direct marketing, too.

The important thing here is that there are (literally) hundreds – if not thousands – of companies, big and small, willing to pay large sums of money to anyone who can design their sales letters and advertisements.

The reason they’re so willing to pay so much for designing a simple letter is because the design can mean the difference between success and failure.

Now let me just clarify one thing. I’m not talking about anything to do with chain letters, envelope stuffing schemes, or anything illegal and unethical. What I’m talking about is designing marketing materials for real companies with real products and services to sell.

A company’s marketing materials can include sales letters, brochures, flyers, inserts, newspaper ads, and posters.

And your job will be to design them in such a way that people will want to read them …

Because as you can probably guess, most people don’t want to read marketing materials.

Yet millions read the good ones. That’s why the design is so critical. It helps get the person’s attention and gets him to read.

Just think. Everything has to be just right for people to read a marketing piece. If the print is too small, they won’t read it.

If the print is too large, they won’t read it. If there’s too much or too little information on each page … guess what? People won’t read it.

That’s why graphic design is so important in the direct-marketing industry. And the great news is it’s a giant industry to be in.

Have More Time, More Money, More Freedom

According to the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), companies are expected to spend an estimated $183.1 billion on direct marketing in 2008.

Total U.S. direct-marketing sales are expected to surpass $2.158 trillion!

Annually, direct-marketing spending is estimated to account for 10.2% of the total U.S. GDP.

For these reasons, graphic designers will always be in demand. And paid very well. In the $75-$110 an hour range and more. That means you can earn $1,200, $1,500, even $2,500 or more in a single week … working part-time.

Imagine the kind of freedom this brings.

How and Why It All Works

A common type of project you’ll get as a freelance graphic designer is the design and layout of a simple sales letter. These can be anywhere from 2 pages all the way to 16 pages and up.

This is how the process usually works …

A company creates a product it wants to sell by mail. They hire a copywriter to write the letter. Then they turn over that letter to a graphic designer and pay them $1,000, $2,500 or more for designing the letter. When you factor in the time it takes to design a simple sales letter, your pay averages out to over $75 an hour and more in other cases.

You design the letter, adding graphics to support the sale of the product, and make sure the text is readable. This means you’ll have to pick out a good font. And then you’ll have to choose what colors will grab the most attention and again, create a “selling environment” so that the reader will want to buy whatever the letter is offering.

Then you design the other elements as well, including any text that goes on the outside of the envelope and any inserts that might go along with the sales letter.

And the great thing is anyone can train themselves to be a direct-marketing graphic designer. It’s just a matter of training your eye by looking at examples that have worked in the past.

There are also a handful of design “rules” you have to follow. They’re easy, and you can quickly learn what they are. A lot of what’s needed is just simple design and layout.

Join Me in This Lucrative “Retirement Career”

I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and I love it. But I’m not the only one having the time of my life. Ordinary, everyday people have gone on to incredible success as freelance graphic designers. For example:

  • Nancy M. is a 33-year-old direct-marketing designer who now earns $100,000 a year. After college, Nancy started in the customer service department of a direct-marketing firm. After a while, she transferred to the graphics department. There, she taught herself the basics of effective design and was soon designing all of the company’s most important direct-marketing letters. It was then that she realized what a gold mine she was sitting on. So she quit her job to work as a freelance designer. Now she loves working from the comfort of her own home. She takes a vacation whenever she wants. Sometimes she can’t believe how easy she has it at 33. She wouldn’t do anything else.
  • Sean Martin, another young freelancer, started out using Macintosh design software creating designs for screen-printed t-shirts. Creative? Yes. But not an easy way to get rich. Then he discovered he could make a lot more money doing desktop design for direct marketers. Today, Sean handles 5 to 15 jobs at any one time. And with an hourly rate of $75 an hour, he’s earning an income even a lawyer, doctor or airline pilot might enjoy. (In his spare time, he plays in a steel drum band.)
  • Angela Mayor decided to quit her job and go freelance 8 years ago. At $85 an hour, she has all the business she can handle. In fact, her business is so profitable she was able to put her husband through law school!
  • Catherine O’Neill lives in rural Ireland. She works part-time from home for clients in Ireland as well as the U.S. She says, “I wake up whenever I feel like it. My office is a comfy overstuffed chair that sits right by my living room window. I work, overlooking my tulip and lily beds. I am reminded of my freedom every time the breeze blows through the window.” Catherine receives all of her work by fax and email. She cuts and pastes it on her computer and then changes it around to make it readable. Then she emails the completed job back to her client, “I start and finish each job,” she says, “without even leaving my room!”
  • A good friend of mine who likes his privacy used to be an industrial appliance maker. His company went belly up, so he moved overseas with his wife. There he made paste-up sale posters in a department store. Then he moved to California and started to work for a direct-marketing publisher. Because of his experience designing posters, he had a sense for simple and easy design. He noticed that a lot of the other direct-marketing advertising that the publisher was doing was fancy and complex. So he bet the publisher he could take one of those fancy direct-marketing packages and boost the response rate just by making it simple and clear. It worked! The new simple design brought in 37% more response and 100% more paid orders … just by changing the graphics! Today he makes a very good living. He charges as much as $20,000 for a promotion – but to his clients he’s worth every penny.

Most of these people never had any “formal” graphic design training. Yet they’re making great incomes that give them the freedom they love.

But you’ll learn everything they know – plus, how to get clients – through the Graphic Design Success program, published by American Writers & Artists Institute (AWAI).

“I am one happy camper”

“I just landed my first paying assignment … When he called, the phone nearly fell out of my hand! Then just yesterday, one day after finishing this first paying assignment, my client called again and was so impressed with what I had done, he asked if I could do 6 more ‘Special Reports’ for him. My graphic design program just got paid for, and my graphic design business is turning a PROFIT! Needless to say, I am one happy camper and am grateful for all I’ve learned from all the fantastic folks at AWAI!”

— Dennis R., Prairieville, LA

AWAI is the world’s leading publisher of direct-response copywriting and graphic design home-study programs. For over 10 years, they’ve been dedicated to helping people become successful freelance professionals.

AWAI started out by offering a home-study copywriting program, showing people how to make a living as a freelance copywriter. But as time went on, they realized what a huge demand there was in the industry for freelance graphic designers, too.

With that in mind, they got a hold of the best graphic designers in the industry, and produced the Graphic Design Success program.

It’s the only program of its kind, featuring the tips, secrets, techniques, and insights of top industry pros.

When I saw the quality of the information in AWAI’s Graphic Design Success program, I immediately began recommending it to everyone I knew who wanted to go freelance.

As a highly sought-after graphic designer, I can confidently say this program has no equal.

And that’s why I’m writing to you today, because it’s with AWAI’s program that you’ll be able to escape the job you’re in now and enter into an new, lucrative, exciting career you can do “part time.”

Here’s a Small Taste of What You’ll Discover

Then you’ll discover:

“The best learning experience I’ve EVER had”

“AWAI as an organization has given me the best learning experience I’ve EVER had, providing me with encouragement and support every step along my journey toward a new career. In short, you folks are great. You’ve helped me see plainly what I need to do to succeed and given me the roadmap, information, and support I need to get there. I can’t thank you enough.”

And anyone can do it … even if you can’t draw a straight line.

You don’t need a college degree.

You don’t need any kind of special certification.

Because most of the “learning” you’ll be doing involves looking at both good and bad examples of design and deciding which is which. And this method of learning works. It’s been proven again and again by those who’ve taken the program.

Like I said before, you don’t need to be a talented or creative artist. Just have an eye for simple and basic design. This program shows you the rest.

  • Should I upgrade my current computer or replace it?

Take Back Your Life Today

“Easy to follow”

“I wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I’m enjoying the Graphic Design Success program. The sessions are detailed, easy to follow, and explain exactly how to apply design concepts in real-world direct-marketing projects … ”

— Vanessa K., Tacoma, WA

Becoming a successful freelance graphic designer has never been easier.

You could enroll at a college and learn graphic design the old fashioned way, like I did.

Only problem is it costs a small fortune. (A recent CNNMoney.com report states that “the average tuition at four-year public colleges and universities is $5,836 for the 2010-11 school year.”) That means well over $20,000 for a four-year degree.

From my own experience, I can confidently say that studying at a college didn’t give me the know-how to work as a freelancer in the “real world.” What I did get was lots of theory, history, and technique. And it’s no wonder since none of my professors were actually working in the field anymore, and so they weren’t familiar with direct-marketing graphic design.

But that’s not the case here.

AWAI developed this program with the help of some of the best graphic designers in the country … in such a way that anyone can follow and apply the information.

And they did this for one reason. Because this is truly …

A Skill You’ll Have Forever

Once you learn it, you’re set. You’ll have the ability to “make” money on demand, whenever you want, from anywhere in the world.

Let’s say you want a quick $5,000. No problem. Design one or two letters in a week and you’ll have it. Or call up an existing client and let him know you can help re-design one of his current packages to increase response. That’s another potential $1,500, $2,500 or more. For less than 40 hours of work.

It’s Easy to Get Started

“I just landed a $3,000 job!”

I just landed a $3,000 job this morning. Woo-hoo!! It’s times like this when I send a mental ‘Thank You!’ to AWAI for helping me get started on this design path.”

— Mike K., Ferndale, WA

There are very few skills out there that can give you this ability. I’m just thankful I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of it. It’s truly given me my life back, as it will for you.

You won’t have to pay a small fortune ($5,000 or more!) like you would at a college to get started in this lucrative career. You also won’t have to wait for years before you’re ready to make money at it.

You could have the opportunity to fire your boss.

You could have the chance to earn more money while working less.

You could have the freedom to do anything you want, whenever you want.

You could have the opportunity to completely transform your life …

… and you can have it all for only $290.

As soon as you register and your order is processed, you’ll receive online access to the program, access to the members-only AWAI Forum, and access to the “Graphics Hall of Fame.”

One More Thing …

Remember, you also get an entire section devoted to getting clients. This is something you won’t learn anywhere else, because this is the a crucial thing left out of all traditional graphic design courses.

One suggestion can lead you to landing a client worth thousands of dollars in assignments.

And here’s one more thing …

With Graphic Design Success, you’re also not limited to direct-marketing work. You’ll be able to design promotional materials for any local or national client …

“Your support and encouragement helped me to make this big step”

“I have something very exciting to share. I have traded in my day job in sales for a start in graphic design! I told my boss that I would not be returning after the holidays, so here I am. I’m so excited! … Thank you so much for your support through all of this. Your support and encouragement helped me to make this big step.”

— Cassandra L., Mobile, AL

Everything from ads and resumes, to posters, signs, circulars, and brochures. Also business cards, letterhead, company logos, catalogs, flyers, and inserts … whatever your clients need to market their products or services.

This only gives you more options to get you to your “retired lifestyle” even quicker.
