I want one but haven’t pulled the trigger to buy it yet. You see I’ve never been an early adopter because I like to wait for the newer models, where I get even more value for my money.
But while waiting to see the various iterations of the Kindle, I’ve actually gotten caught up in the marketing.
Their sales page is so simple … yet obviously effective as demonstrated by the amount of valuable real estate Amazon dedicates on its website.
Not to mention the growing number of people I see who have them on the plane each time I fly!
Along with the standard Amazon sales information provided on all products, there are three videos on the main sales landing page. A 2-minute sales video, a 6-minute guided tour, and a 4-minute testimonial montage.
What’s funny though, is that now more than the Kindle itself, I’m drawn to something else every time I look at the sales page …
The fact that all three videos could easily be done on a home computer!
When I look at the sales page right now I see two things:
- A marketing channel that I want to start testing more, and;
- A good opportunity for you to increase your copywriting fees (or a lucrative specialty you may want to consider if long copy isn’t your thing!).
What may surprise you is that online videos are really easy to create once you have someone show and teach you the few skills you need. I know firsthand from creating how-to cooking videos for my own money-making website.
Online videos may look intimidating, but with the software available these days, video production has become a simple task.
