Earning a Residual Income From
Your First Money-Making Website
Is Just the Beginning
A year from now your first money-making website could be earning you anywhere between $500 and $5,000 a month.
That’s something to look forward to, and certainly reason enough to learn how to write a website that is specifically created with passive income in mind.
And, of course, the first year is just the beginning. Your site will still be young, and your income will continue to grow.
That’s the thing about this model. When you write your site, you’re creating an asset. Theme-based, content-rich websites keep getting better with each passing year. And they continue to generate increasing levels of income.
In contrast to this approach, I know someone who makes a great income by creating products, writing sales websites, and then promoting those sites aggressively. The trouble is, once the promotion ends, so does the traffic.
He doesn’t create sites that will make him money for years to come. He creates sites that generate income in short bursts and then fade from view.
He wrote to me recently telling me how he was going to look very carefully at my approach. I think he’s getting tired of having to create endless products and an endless line of websites.
He would rather invest his time in a website that becomes a long-term, revenue-generating asset.
Once your money-making website is up and running, then what?
The first thing you’ll do is keep adding to your site. My CoffeeDetective.com site is now over three years old. But I add two or three new pages each week and continue to work on increasing the number of inbound links to the site.
That takes me maybe two hours a week. But it’s time well spent, because it ensures the site will continue to grow, as does the number of visitors and the revenues it generates.
But with one site taking just two or three hours a week to maintain and grow, what else can one do?
Well, you can apply all you’ve learned to the creation of a second website.
And why not? You worked hard to learn how to get the first site up and running. So why not profit even more from what you’ve learned?
Identify a different topic, and then leverage everything you learned while creating the first site. Believe me, the second site is a lot easier than the first.
Maybe set yourself a target to create one new site a year for the next five years.
In a few short years you’ll have five sites, all of them making you money, each and every month.
Among those five, some will do better than others. Combined they can generate an income for you that most people would envy.
What else? How else can you leverage everything you’ve learned?
Maybe having those five sites will be enough. Maybe having just one site will be enough.
Or maybe you’re like me and you’re always looking for ways to leverage everything you learn and do.
If you’re looking for more ways to monetize the expertise you’ll develop as you write your money-making websites, you won’t have to look too far.
First, through the action of writing your own sites, you’ll become an expert in website content writing and development.
That’s a skill companies will pay for.
In other words, you’ll be able to set up as a freelance web-content expert and charge fees for your services.
Writing your own websites will also turn you into a search engine optimization expert.
This whole approach depends on being able to attract a ton of free traffic from the major search engines. And that means you’ll quickly become an expert at framing and writing well-optimized web pages.
Once again, this skill is something you can sell. You can charge fees to advise companies on how best to optimize their website content.
Is this true? Is writing your own websites enough of a “qualification”?
Yes.
For the past 11 years, I’ve spent my days working as an online copywriter and consultant for some of the largest and most successful companies in the world. During the evenings and on weekends, I’ve been writing my own money-making websites.
Hand on my heart and scout’s honor … I’ve learned more about creating successful websites during my evenings and weekends. Creating your own money-making websites is by far the fastest and most thorough way to learn.
If you do decide to take what you’ve learned and set up as an expert for hire, you may want to do some extra training. But having written your own websites will give you an amazing foundation to build on.
All that said, we’re getting way ahead of ourselves.
Job one is to get started on creating your first money-making website.
