Sneak Inside the 2009
Web Copywriting Intensive
Everybody knows – they like to do things big in Texas. Which makes it the perfect place to host this year’s Web Copywriting Intensive.
I’m Monica Day – and I’ll be your Roving Reporter for AWAI’s 3-day blitz designed to transform direct-mail copywriters into highly paid, extremely busy, Web Copy Specialists.
I just landed here in Austin – and I’m heading into the mix of 60 participants and the experts who are going to be in charge of the transformation.
Names I’m sure you’ll recognize … Matt Furey, Andrew Palmer, Nick Usborne, Heather Lloyd-Martin. This is a collection of the world’s top web gurus – and 60 lucky participants who get a first-row seat to learn from them.
Don’t worry, though. I’ll send you updates everyday – and will include as many hard facts and tips as I can cram in.
And not only will you get a report from me covering what happens in-the-room – but the AWAI-TV crew is here! That means interviews and other on-the-side activities will be coming your way, too.
One of the things I like best about this Roving Reporter gig is that I get a sneak peek at the handouts and presentations in store for the participants. I have to say, I’m impressed!
Nick Usborne’s is so long I think I got carpal tunnel syndrome just from clicking through the slides! And each one was a heavy hitter.
Boom, boom, boom – he spells it out so clearly. What works and what doesn’t on the web. It’s the kind of stuff you know instinctively when you click onto a site – but can’t articulate yet, let alone do! Nick makes it so plain and simple that I have no doubt every person in the room will be a more effective web writer by the time his presentation ends!
Just a glimpse of his presentation on the page made my heart start racing …

Then I spotted …
Pam Foster’s very practical 21-Point Usability Checklist …
Matt Furey’s very lucrative Top 8 Email Money-Making Strategies …
Andrew Palmer’s 8 Tips for Online Testing, which I know he used to grow the enormously successful list for The Daily Reckoning before moving on to consult with other top Internet publishers around the world.
Plus, Heather Lloyd-Martin reveals the insights that have made her the hands-down “Queen of SEO Copywriting” and shows you how to put them to work on any site, for any product and service, to dramatically increase traffic … and sales.
In preparing to be your eyes and ears for the next three days, I can already tell you – this Intensive will completely transform your understanding of how to write effective web copy. It takes all the basics you’ve already studied about direct mail – but then applies them more specifically to the Internet.
Plus, it covers other important Internet-marketing concepts – like pay-per-click advertising and search engine optimization and converting visitors to buyers.
I know, it sounds a little geeky, but it happens. When you’re so hungry for information – when you’re ready to take your career or business to the next level – this stuff can get pretty darn exciting.
Then, what I know is true after attending AWAI conferences for the past 7 years – is what happens when the speakers get up on the stage and make their points using stories, examples – and even rapid-fire Q&A sessions right on the spot. The material comes to life. Everything makes more sense. And people are transformed.
I can hardly wait.
By Wednesday night – in addition to being exhausted – I know I’ll have all the ammo I need to take my online businesses to the next level.
So enjoy my reports, watch AWAI-TV, and follow along with me, direct from the 2009 Web Copywriting Intensive in Austin, Texas.
