Get In The “Zone” ... Every Time

Here’s a neat little “tool” my fellow AWAI Staff Writer, Jason Gaspero, turned me onto.

It’s called The Brain Massage by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson (available through Nightingale Conant).

Whenever I sit down to write, I pop in one of the CDs, set my timer and off I go!

I can’t even begin to tell you how much listening to these CDs while I write has helped my focus.

Before, whenever I would sit down to write, my mind would start wandering off … thinking about what I had to get from the grocery store, what loose ends I needed to tie up, other things I could have been doing, etc.

But now, within minutes I’m focused and in the “zone.”

At the heart of Dr. Jeffrey’s audio, are specific sound frequency patterns that help your brain go into certain brainwave states, like Alpha, Beta, and even Theta.

I prefer the Alpha brainwave states, as they’re optimal for focus and creativity. Now, I know this all sounds a little “woo-woo.” But at least for me (and Jason), it definitely works.

You don’t necessarily have to get Dr. Thompson’s CDs. There are plenty of other brain entrainment CDs out there.

Or if you’re really strapped for cash, go to your local music store (or even local library) and get anything by Mozart. The tempos of most of his compositions are such that they promote Alpha brainwaves.

Try it out and let me know your experience!
