What’s Your White-Hot Reason for Wanting to Achieve Copywriting Success?

“I have 6 kids,” Steve told me. “And it’s tough not being able to be home for them.”

Steve continued, “But what really did it for me was the one morning I was rushing out of the house to get to work. I went to go give my youngest son one of those quick ‘Love ya, gotta go!’ hugs as I made my way to the front door, when his older brother, who saw this take place, looked at him and said, ‘Daddy doesn’t have time to hug you.’ ”

“At that moment,” Steve said, “I felt as though a knife sliced through my heart. Right there and then, I knew I had to make a change. That day I committed to doing whatever it took to make it as a copywriter and create a better life for my family.”

As heart-wrenching as it was for Steve to hear those words coming out of his young child’s mouth, it gave him his burning “reason why” for becoming a freelance copywriter.

Today, Steve is on track to quitting his full-time job in the next few months and making just as much money working from home, writing web copy.

Steve’s success is no accident. He used his “reason why” to rocket him into a successful copywriting career that has completely transformed his life.

So what’s your white-hot “reason why” for wanting to achieve copywriting success?

Is it to spend more time with your family? Is it to get out of smothering debt and move into liberating wealth? Maybe you just love writing and want to make a living at it.

Whatever your reason, it’s important you have at least one that motivates you when times get tough.

With that said, here’s a little trick you can use as a quick “pick me up” whenever you need it:

  1. Grab a piece of paper or index card and list all the reasons why you got into copywriting.
  2. Once you’ve exhausted every possible reason, grab another sheet of paper or index card and prioritize those reasons, from most powerful to least.
  3. Make a few copies of this prioritized “reason why” list and carry it with you at all times.
  4. Whenever you feel like quitting, pull out your list of reasons why. Read through it twice. Each time you read it, visualize and feel those things as being in your life right now.

For example, if one of your reasons is to get out of debt, visualize going to the bank and making a big deposit. Then picture yourself calling all those pesky creditors and paying them off, one by one. Afterwards, feel the thrill as if it were all happening right now.

I guarantee you’ll find the energy and motivation you need to become successful if you put this one simple trick to use.

Who knows, maybe a year from now you’ll be opening your email to find your story being featured in “The Golden Thread”!
