Quick Tip: A “GPS System” to Keep Your Goals on Track

When you write down your goals and objectives, you’re creating a roadmap for success. But how can you tell where you are along that road … and how far you still have to go?

Here’s a simple tracking form that you can adapt to your needs in order to keep yourself headed in the right direction. Remember that objectives are measurable steps along the way to accomplishing a goal. And tasks are specific things you have to do to accomplish the objective.

GOAL: _______________________________________

Date Due: __________________

[ ] Accomplished

OBJECTIVE 1: __________________________________

Date Due: __________________

[ ] Accomplished

Task 1: __________________________________

Task 2: __________________________________

Task 3: __________________________________

OBJECTIVE 2: __________________________________

And so on.

Check off each task as you complete it. When all the tasks listed under an objective are checked, check off that objective. When you’ve accomplished all the objectives, you’ve met your goal. Congratulations! Reward yourself!
