Quick Tip:
Keeping in Touch … the Right Way

You’ve finished the assignment. And you’ve deposited the check. So what’s next? Do you just hang around waiting for that client to contact you? Not if you want him to remember you for the next job he has.

Contact previous clients on a regular basis – about every three to four weeks. But have a good reason for doing it. If you make sure you have worthwhile information to share, your client will be happy to hear from you.

I recently did a Web promo for a service that finds the best gas price in the subscriber’s area. A month after completing the project, I came across a graph online showing the steady upward trend in gas prices. I emailed the graph and the link to my client. He wrote back thanking me … and asking if I was available for another project.
