Quick Tip: Write What You Know

Fiction writers are told to "write what you know." This advice applies equally as well to copywriters searching for products and services to write about.

Think specifically about what you use every day. Are you a cyclist passionate about a particular racing bike? Who better to write copy for its manufacturer? Do you love a certain brand of coffee? Find the name of the company's marketing director and pitch yourself.

The worst they can do is say "no." And you just may be the fresh new voice they long for.

Practice the art of the pitch and you'll find what works best for you.
