A Quick Note from the AWAI Copywriting Bootcamp
Last week's bootcamp in Delray Beach brought together 102 students from all over the world, including the U.S., Belize, Canada, Ireland, Great Britain, France, and Germany.
These most dedicated students had four straight days of intense instruction on every aspect of becoming a copywriter from some of the most respected people in the business: Don Mahoney, Bob Bly, John Forde, Jen Stevens, Lori Haller, and, of course, Michael Masterson. They were overwhelmed with valuable information, both verbal and in print (to take home and study).
Jenny Thompson from Agora Health Publishing joined us to delve into the secrets and techniques needed to write for the fast-growing health market … James DiGeorgia discussed writing for financial publications … Sara Pond and AWAI student Catherine Cairnes went into great detail about writing for the self-help group … and Don Mahoney worked with several students to help them write for information products (like the AWAI course).
In addition, students had the opportunity to work in small groups each day to try their hand at writing copy for one of 6 spec assignments.
If last year's success is any indication of what we can expect this year, we can look forward to a slew of new student success stories.
We'll keep you updated in upcoming issues of TGTE.
